APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Appleton residents may get higher water pressure with a new proposal from city administration.
Appleton officials are recommending investing $2.9 million in the 2022 water main replacement program.
The funding would be transferred from the city’s second raw water line improvements program.
The cost to replace all remaining four-inch water mains is $3.6 million. Replacing all remaining six-inch water mains would require an additional $35.1 million.
Last month, the Appleton Common Council passed a resolution to request $35.1 million from the state budget surplus.
The city council will vote on the $2.9 million funding transfer at Wednesday’s meeting.
