MENASHA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Menasha lifted its curfew and burn ban that were enacted after a EF-3 tornado hit last month.
Menasha writes, “This is another positive step forward as our community continues to move from the immediate response into the longer recovery process.”
While the Fox Valley was dealing with destruction and debris in the aftermath of the July 27 tornado that tore through parts of Appleton, Menasha and Neenah, a curfew and burn ban went into effect.
Police reported multiple arrests for curfew violations.
So far the United Way Fox Cities says it has awarded $651,500 to 30 local nonprofits supporting response and recovery efforts. Last week, representatives from FEMA were in the Fox Valley assessing damage. Those damage assessments will determine federal aid.
