DE PERE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Durr CTS Inc. announced it will permanently close its manufacturing plant at 830 Prosper Road in De Pere. Manufacturing shutdown and permanent layoffs begin October 13.
The company listed 75 workers which will be laid off. 15 of those are listed as ‘Welder/Fabricator A3,’ and another 12 are listed as ‘Crew Leader 2’ in a letter to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development Dislocated Worker Unit. Most other roles will only result in 1 to 3 people each being laid off, though 6 ‘Receiving/Storeroom Clerk A3’ workers will be laid off. 75 workers are listed as being laid off, but the letter to the DWD says the plant closure is expected to result in the permanent elimination of 72 employees.
Durr CTS will lay off employees in phases. The first phase will happen October 13; the second phase will take place December 31, but may be pushed up earlier in the month based on operational needs; and the final phase will happen January 31, though layoffs could take place as early as January 2, 2027 based on operational needs.
