CHILTON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Connor Hesson was convicted Friday of eight charges for intentionally colliding with police vehicles while trying to elude arrest.
Another 28 counts, mostly bail jumping charges, were dismissed as part of the plea deal. Sentencing is scheduled for March 3, court records show.
Charges he was convicted of include eluding an officer, criminal damage to property, battery to a law enforcement officer, and recklessly endangering safety.
Appleton police say they were trying to take him into custody on July 23 for a felony escape warrant but Hesson got away in a vehicle. Police tried stopping him and that’s when police say he intentionally struck three different occupied police vehicles head on. Police say Hesson then took off again onto Highway 441, driving erratically. For the safety of the community, officers decided to end the pursuit.
The Appleton officers suffered minor injuries.
