GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – There is still uncertainty whether fans will be in the stands at Green Bay Packers games this season.
“We know we have to make decisions on a number of different things coming up but we’re not going to make those decisions until we absolutely have to,” Green Bay Packers President Mark Murphy said in an online webinar with other area business leaders Thursday.
For area businesses who rely on attendance at Packers games, it’s a waiting game.
“Everything’s up in the air. We don’t really know how to handle it or what to do but to stay open and try to talk to your customers,” Schmittys Tickets owner John Schmidt says.
Schmidt says he may have to make some changes based on the decisions made by the NFL and the Green Bay Packers.
Schmidt says, “do we keep selling them now? Or do we stop and then wait to see on the decision?”
One of these considerations is raising ticket prices to meet supply and demand if the stadium capacity is cut down.
Other area businesses like Stadium View Bar and Grill will go about business as usual, no matter the outcome.
“We’re going to be moving forward with things whether there are fans in the stands or not. We want to make sure that we are a destination for people to be coming whether it’s going to the game or coming to Stadium View to watch the game here,” Stadium View President Bob Watson says.
Businesses agree that whatever the decision is, they hope to hear about it soon.
