GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Green Bay Fire was dispatched for the report of a house fire in the 1400 block of Emilie Street just before midnight last night.
On arrival firefighters found heavy fire on the outside back of the home.
Crews were able to quickly knock down the exterior fire, but found the fire had extended into the basement and both the first and second floors of the home.
Extensive overhaul was needed to check for and extinguish fire on all three levels.
Crews were able to limit the fire damage to the rear portion of the home, but there is smoke and water damage throughout the house.
No one was hurt. Investigators have determined careless use of smoking materials started the fire, which caused an estimated $80 thousand in damages.
