The St. Norbert Green Knights will play for the Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference tournament championship after surviving a wild, 83-82 triple overtime victory over Benedictine College Thursday night at the Mulva Family and Fitness Sports Center in De Pere. The Knights defeated Benedictine by a dozen just last week but they got off to a slow start in the rematch, falling behind 19-7 in the first half. SNC closed the gap to a pair by intermission and the game stayed close the rest of the way. Both teams had opportunities to win in regulation and in each of the overtimes but a Benedictine baseline jumper missed the mark with only seconds left in the third extra period, St. Norbert pulled down the rebound and secured the win. It was just the sixth, triple overtime game in Green Knights program history. Evan Glaser led all scorers with 30 points while Carter Gebler contributed 16. St. Norbert improves to 22-5 on the season and they will meet top seeded Wisconsin Lutheran for the NACC title Saturday afternoon in Milwaukee. Lutheran improved to 23-4 with a 71-55 victory over Rockford. The Knights defeated Lutheran in their only regular season meeting.
