(UW ATHLETICS) – The No. 6 Wisconsin volleyball team heads down to the Lone Star State for a pair of matches against No. 19 Texas A&M and No. 9 Texas on Friday, Sept. 11, and Sunday, Sept. 13.
The Badgers are slated to take on the Aggies at 7 p.m. on Friday before hitting the court for a 2 p.m. showdown against the Longhorns on Sunday. Friday’s match will air on the SEC Network, with fans able to watch Sunday’s match on ESPN.
Wisconsin will meet Texas A&M in College Station for just the second time in program history, where the Aggies hold a 1-0 edge over the Badgers. The Badgers last met the Aggies in the 2024 NCAA Regional Semifinal, where Wisconsin pulled off the five-set win to advance to its seventh straight Regional Final.
On Sunday, Wisconsin will meet the Longhorns for its 14th time in program history. Last season, the Badgers met the Longhorns twice; they fell 0-3 at the Opening Spike Classic in August before defeating Texas in four sets to advance to the NCAA National Semifinals.
The Badgers are fresh off their first week of action at home, hosting No. 17 Florida and Auburn for the Big Ten/SEC Challenge week. Wisconsin walked out of the weekend with back-to-back wins, improving its record at the Field House to 91-8 (.919) since 2020. Freshman libero Anna Bardaro earned Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors after her performance across the week, collecting a career-high 19 digs on Wednesday before posting 17 digs on Thursday.
Wednesday’s match marked the first time in program history that the Badgers defeated the Gators at the Field House, doing so in five sets. Freshman Lynney Tarnow tallied career-high performances with 16 kills on a .429 hitting percentage, also chipping in five blocks.
The Badgers capped off the week with a straight-set victory over Auburn. Freshman Halle Thompson found a spark at the net, tallying her first career double-double with 11 kills and 11 digs.
