Brewers TM
The Colorado Rockies roughed up Milwaukee Brewer starter Eric Lauer to the tune of 5 runs on 9 hits over four innings in a 12-8 Cactus League victory on Monday afternoon. Willy Contreras singlehandedly kept the Crew in the game with a pair of three run homers and Brian Anderson added a solo shot in defeat. Milwaukee plays it’s final Cactus League game Tuesday afternoon with a rematch against the Rockies before they break camp and head north to start the regular season against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field on Thursday afternoon. Pre-game coverage will begin at 12:45 PM with the first pitch of the season coming at 1:20 PM on WTAQ. Corbin Burnes will face Marcus Stroman on opening day.
The Brewers also made several roster moves and a couple of newcomers have made the big league club. Former number one pick, infielder Brice Turang got the big news and immediately called his parents saying it all hasn’t sunk in quite yet. Mequon native Owen Miller, acquired from Cleveland in the off-season, also made the big league club as did Rule 5 draft pick Gus Varland, selected of the Los Angeles Dodgers minor league roster. First baseman Luke Voight, signed to a minor league deal in the off-season, also made the opening day big league roster for the Brewers.
