GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The governor was in Green Bay Monday to highlight the success of a workforce development program.
Governor Scott Walker stopped at St. Vincent Hospital to discuss ‘Project Search,’ which provides students with disabilities the necessary skills to succeed in their choice careers.
Since budgeting $850,000 to expand Project Search in 2014, Walker notes it has grown from seven sites statewide to 27 sites.
The governor also promoted ‘A Better Bottom Line,’ which encourages businesses to hire people with disabilities.
Walker notes it is about “identifying abilities that people have instead of focusing on a disability.”
