GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Two Green Bay staples announced a new partnership Tuesday.
Through an agreement with the Packers, Austin Straubel International Airport is now “The Gateway to Lambeau Field.”
Airport Director Tom Miller says the partnership formalizes the strong working relationship the two entities have had for years.
Miller says the team flies in and out of Austin Straubel and notes the airport is one of the main ways fans of the Green and Gold arrive for games and other team events.
According to Miller, the one-year deal costs the airport $50,000.
He notes that comes with multiple perks including advertisements on the team’s cable network, website, and game day programs and the right to use the Lambeau Field moniker in social media posts.
Brown County Executive Troy Streckenbach supports the deal, saying “both the Packers and GRB are economic drivers in our community; joining forces to mutually support one another makes sense.”
