GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) -Another hunting season is about to get underway as Sunday starts the Holiday Hunt.
The season is an antlerless hunting season only.
Jeff Pritzl, DNR District Wildlife Supervisor says not every county has one.
“It is a county by county decision that can change every year.”
Pritzl says the Holiday hunt can help with herd health.
He also adds that while it is smaller, it is effective.
“Last year we had a little over 3,300 deer harvested.”
Brown, Door, Kewaunee, Waupaca, Waushara, Southern Oconto and Southern Marinette Counties are participating.
The Holiday Hunt goes from Christmas Eve to New Year’s Day.
