(WNFL/WIAA) – The Kaukauna Ghosts baseball team is in the WIAA Division 1 state baseball championship game following Wednesday’s 7-1 win over the Nicolet Knights.
Kaukauna will face the winner of Thursday’s rain-delayed Division 1 semifinal between Madison Memorial and Muskego. The semifinal game will be played at noon with Kaukauna playing the winner at 6:05 p.m.
Bron Schaefer pitched a complete game for Kaukauna, allowing 1 run on 2 hits and 2 walks while striking out 8.
Kayden Kress and Braydon Jenkins both drove in 2 runs for Kaukauna which broke open a 2-1 game with a 4-run fourth inning.
Schaefer also had 2 hits.
Ari Schupper took the loss for Nicolet.
