ALLOUEZ, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — For some Milwaukee Brewers fans, cheering on their team means a trip to Milwaukee. For one Allouez man, it means a much longer journey.
Nick Griffie and his wife drove from Allouez to St. Petersburg, Florida, for a chance to watch the Brewers play in Game 3 of the World Series.
Griffie and his wife decided to plan the trip from Allouez to the Tampa Bay area after finding tickets to the game in Florida.
He shared what makes the miles worth it.
“My brother-in-law wanted to go to world series games, but we looked at the prices and we’re not happy with it. On the other hand, I always like to drive places and given my condition of ALS I’m not really a flyer anymore. It’s not something I can do because of that. My wife and I decided to drive. This would be my best one last time to see a world series game we decided to go to Tampa anyways,” said Nick Griffie.
Griffie says he’s been a Brewers fan for “forever.”
