GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The newest school in Green Bay had its ceremonial opening.
Kids have been learning at Starr Elementary School for more than a month, but school district officials officially cut the ribbon on the building Wednesday morning.
The $44 million, 140,000-square-foot building on the city’s west side was part of a $183 million referendum voters approved in 2024. It is named for former Green Bay Packers quarterback and coach Bart Starr and his wife, Cherry. The Starrs’ son, Bart Jr., represented the family at the ceremony.
With a capacity of 500 students in early childhood through fifth grade, the building consolidates Keller, Kennedy and MacArthur schools.
