(ST NORBERT COMMUNICATIONS) – DE PERE – St. Norbert College clinched a big 5-0 victory on senior day against Concordia University Chicago in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match at Schneider Stadium.
The Green Knights (5-6-1, 4-2 NACC) were held scoreless in the first half, but came out roaring in the final 45 minutes. Aleah Reesman had St. Norbert’s best opportunity in the first half, nearly scoring on a chip after 32 seconds of play.
Shelby Busch opened the scoring for the Green Knights at 54:23, scoring directly from a corner kick that found its way to the far post and in the back of the net. Mya Gonzalez doubled the lead on another corner at 67:02. Reesman scored her second goal of the year from a Brielle Hamilton (pictured) assist at 74:52, while Lexi Fredenhagen scored a brace in the final seven minutes, including a rocket from 25 yards out with one minute remaining. Cynthia Coronado and Maddie Dudan provided the assists.
The Green Knights outshot the Cougars 15-4. Leah Hess was asked to make just one save for another clean sheet for the sophomore. Concordia’s Katelyn Wagner made five saves.
