Packers’ LaFleur, Rhyan talk injuries

(247NEWSSOURCE/LEARFIELD) – The Green Bay Packers will play the rest of this season without one of their starting offensive linemen.

Tackle Zach Bako-Bewele told reporters yesterday that he suffered a torn patellar tendon during Sunday’s win over the New York Jets.

He’s set to undergo season-ending surgery tomorrow.

Coach Matt LaFleur says it’s “too early” to speculate whether wide receiver Jayden Reed who was also injured in Sunday’s win over the Jets can return his season.

LaFleur talked about putting together an offensive line given the injuries and short week.

LaFleur also talked about getting away from committing all the penalties.

LaFleur said that offensively, the team must get better at manageable down-and-distances.

Inside the lockerroom: Bako-Bewele talked about how the injury happened.

He said that it’s a tough blow to suffer another torn patellar tendon.

Center Sean Rhyan talked about the Bako-Bewele news.

What were his thoughts when Zach Bako-Bewele went down?

So what now with the offensive line?

• Packers QB Jordan Love completed 14 of 25 passes for 151 yards and three touchdowns with no picks, becoming the second quarterback in franchise history to throw three-plus TD passes and zero INTs in both of the first two games of the season (Favre, 1996).
• Packers WR Jayden Reed caught two of Love’s three TD passes, joining James Lofton (Sept. 10, 1978) as the only Packers to have multiple receiving TDs in a game within his first two NFL games.
• Falcons running back Bijan Robinson rushed 19 times for 124 yards (6.5 avg.), marking his first 100-yard mark on the ground.
