(247NEWSSOURCE/LEARFIELD) – The Milwaukee Brewers walked off with a 4-3 victory over the Twins in 10 innings to capture their rubber match at American Family Field in Milwaukee.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said that this was the best team win, a game in which Christian Yelich pinch-ran, William Contreras caught the ninth inning and the Brewers emptied the bench.
He said the win showed what a great bunch we have.
Murphy was asked what kind of game does he prefer more?
Jacob Misiorowski got the start and struck out nine over six innings while DL Hall pitched a scoreless tenth inning to get the win.
With the strikeouts, Misiorowski moved past 200 strikeouts for the season. The only pitcher in Major League Baseball history to get to 200 strikeouts quicker was the Braves Spencer Strider who did it in 2023.
Misiorowski also talked about phenomenal catches being made by Luis Lara.
Jake Bauers went two for three with a solo homer and the game-winning single.
Milwaukee has won five of its last six games.
Yoendrys Gomez was saddled with the loss after allowing an unearned run on one hit and a walk for Minnesota, which has dropped back to back games.
The Brewers are in San Diego tonight to open a 3-game series with the Padres.
Logan Henderson who is 6-1 with a 2.70 ERA will start for the Brewers.
Casey Mize who is 4-7 with a 3.40 ERA will start for the Padres.
