FOX VALLEY (WTAQ-WLUK) — As tornado response transitions to long-term efforts, one resource center in the Fox Valley is being replaced by another.
The resource distribution site at the former University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Fox Cities Campus closed on Sunday.
Monday and Tuesday, a resource center will be open at the Mary Beth Nienhaus Activity Center, 3000 E. College Ave, Suite B, Appleton. Hours are 9 a.m.-7 p.m. This Multiagency Resource Center is open to people from all communities that were impacted by the tornado.
At this location, nonprofit organizations, community partners and local agencies will provide information, guidance, and resources for individuals and families affected by the storm. Representatives will be available to assist residents with immediate needs, recovery planning, and referrals to additional services.
In Menasha, the hardest-hit community, leaders say resources and help will still be available, but will be moved to sites closer to the areas impacted by the tornado.
The city also encourages those who would still like to donate items to support local food pantries and established community organizations. Menasha says monetary donations are one of the most effective ways to help. It encourages anyone to donate to United Way Fox Cities’ tornado relief fund.
