(LEARFIELD) – San Francisco Giants catcher Daniel Susac broke a scoreless tie with a three-run homer in the third inning, leading San Francisco to a 16-3 rout of the Milwaukee Brewers at Oracle Park in San Francisco on Wednesday afternoon.
Rookie Thomas Pannone gave up the longball in his first start of the season, taking the loss.
Pannone gave up 3 runs in 3 innings.
Chad Patrick was first out of the bullpen and he allowed 2 runs in 2 innings. Aaron Ashby then gave up 5 runs in 1/3 of an inning with Bryse Wilson and Andrew Vaughn both giving up 3 runs.
Brice Turang knocked in two of Milwaukee’s three runs.
Turang and Jake Bauers both had 2 hits.
The Brewers played sloppily on defense, committing 3 errors.
The Brewers are off today, then open a series against the Angels Friday with Shane Drohan getting a delayed starting assignment.
Milwaukee with its 67-41 record still holds a 6-game lead over the second-place Chicago Cubs who are 61-47 and lost 3-2 in 10 innings to St. Louis Wednesday night.
