GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Green Bay Packers player is backing a new space for healing in the community.
Holistic Therapy Collective, located at 340 N Broadway, Ste. 260, cut the ribbon on its new business in the Broadway District Friday.
It’s a mental health therapy practice that creates customized healing plans for individuals based on eight pillars of wellness: Physical, emotional, social, spiritual, intellectual, occupational, financial and environmental.
The facility offers talk therapy, massage therapy, yoga, meditation, sound healing and breath work.
Owner Brett LaBar says he wanted to give people who are struggling, a place to go to with options, after going through his own mental health journey.
“I went through a really hard time, depression, and had to work through it myself and so talk therapy, medication, it helped but when I started working out, eating better, loving myself, digging through some of the issues I had, I was wholly healing in a way and I wanted to take that, all these resources that I was lucky enough to have and provide that to the Green Bay community to help them heal.”
Packers quarterback Jordan Love’s nonprofit, Hands of 10ve, invested in the business, assisting with startup costs and resources.
One of Love’s missions is to bring awareness to mental health and suicide. Love’s father died by suicide when Jordan was just 14 years old.
LaBar said he reached out to Hands of 10ve and has been working with them for more than a year to open Holistic Therapy Collective.
