(LEARFIELD) – First, the Pirates swept a Saturday doubleheader, then swept the weekend series with a one-sided 14-5 game Sunday.
The Brewers never led and watched Pittsburgh score 10 times in the bottom of the fourth off of Robert Gasser and Jared Koenig.
Brice Turang’s 14th home run capped a three-run rally in the eighth.
Gasser took the loss in the last game before the break for the 2026 All-Star Game.
Jacob Misiorowski was initially to start Sunday’s game but Brewers manager Pat Murphy gave him the day off after not recovering well from his last start – fatigue is the listed reasoning.
Murphy said that they owed it to the Miz to let him take some time off.
Murphy said that the entire team is gassed.
The Brewers finish pre-All-Star part of their schedule with a 57-39 record and a 3-game losing streak. They lead the Chicago Cubs by 5 games and the St. Louis Cardinals by 8.5 games.
Milwaukee is idle until Friday when they host the Miami Marlins.
