MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Nathan Brase pleaded not guilty Thursday to charges for allegedly exploiting a minor online.
Brase, 33, also waived a preliminary hearing on five counts. Those charges include grooming a child for sexual activity, and soliciting intimate representations from a minor.
No trial date was set. Brase returns to court Aug. 21 for a status conference, court records show.
In early June, investigators received information that Brase was communicating with a minor from Two Rivers.
The investigation uncovered evidence against Brase, including sexually extorting the victim, grooming the child for sexual activity, soliciting intimate images from the victim and making threats.
An arrest warrant was later issued and the suspect was arrested at his residence.
Investigators believe there could be additional victims who have yet to be identified.
Anyone that may have information in relation to this case, or had contact with Brase under similar circumstances, is asked to contact Detective Megan Klumpyan or Detective Lieutenant Jake Glaser at the Two Rivers Police Department at 920-793-1191.
