GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Stephen Preisler, the drug author known as Uncle Fester, has sold his Green Bay home and the foreclosure action filed by the city after his arrest has been dropped.
Preisler, 68, gained renown under the name “Uncle Fester” for his books on how to make ricin, methamphetamine and other drugs.
In July 2023, he was charged in Brown County with multiple drug manufacturing and delivery counts after items were seized from his Baird Street home. He has since been convicted of several drug and bail jumping charges. He will be sentenced July 16 on the primary case in Brown County.
After his arrest, Green Bay filed a civil lawsuit, seeking to take control of the property at 826 S. Baird Street and having it declared a public nuisance. The city had arranged for prospective buyers to tour the home at one point, court records show.
But in a filing Friday, the city and Preisler’s attorney said the court case has been closed.
Defendant Stephen C. Preisler has sold the property, and will have no interest, ownership or control of the property, located at 826 S. Baird Street, in the city of Green Bay, Brown County, Wisconsin. IT IS FURTHER HEREBY STIPULATED AND AGREED that the above-entitled action, including any and all claims and causes of action between the parties, shall be dismissed with prejudice, upon the merits and without costs to any of the parties.
Brown County land records show the property was sold May 29 for $65,000.
The first criminal complaint in Brown County alleged the amount of methamphetamines found in Preisler’s home could last the average user anywhere from 328 days to over 3,000 days. Preisler has repeatedly disputed the items seized were illegal substances.
