(247NEWSSOURCE) – The Milwaukee Brewers completed a three-game sweep of the St. Louis Cardinals with a 2-1 win from American Family Field in Milwaukee on Wednesday.
Christian Yelich hit a game-tying single in the bottom of the eighth before Sal Frelick scored the go-ahead run on an error by Masyn Winn.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy talked about getting the win late in the game.
Murphy also talked about that 2-run eighth inning.
Aaron Ashby earned his ninth win out of the bullpen with Trever Megill getting the save.
Murphy said that the team is working on the bullpen which saw Shane Drohan and Ashby each pitch 2 innings in relief of start Chad Patrick followed by Megill.
Megill talked about coming from behind to get the win.
Milwaukee is in first place in the NL Central at 33-and-20.
Dustin May was charged with his sixth loss after striking out nine and allowing one earned run and one unearned run on two hits in seven frames.
The Cardinals fell to 29-and-25.
