ALLOUEZ, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — There will be a special bulk pick-up for houses in part of Allouez after flooding left water and sewage in some basements.
Village officials say the pickup will be for homes located north of Highway 172, east of Libal Street and south of St. Joseph Street.
Items eligible for pickup include:
- Mattresses/Box Springs
- Furniture
- Carpet
- Sinks/Toilets/Tubs
- Windows/Doors
- Wood/Lumber
Items which are not allowed are:
- Appliances
- Electronics
- Cardboard
- Gas Powered Equipment
- Fluorescent Light Bulbs/Lamps
- Tires
- Construction Debris from Remodeling
- Gas/Charcoal Grills
- Exercise Equipment
- Car Batteries
The village issues these guidelines for the pickup:
- Only place acceptable items out for collection.
- Place bulk waste behind the curb. Do not place anything on the street.
- In areas where sidewalk is adjacent to the back of curb, bulk shall be placed behind the sidewalk.
- Keep bulk piles as compact as possible to allow for efficient pick-up.
- Place bulk waste four (4) feed away from any fixed structure (mailbox, trees, cars, utility poles, etc.).
Items should be placed for collection by 6 a.m. April 22.
