The closure is causing issues for the Lamers Bus Lines, which is located in the closed stretch of roadway.
Multiple businesses on the roadway are also being affected by the flooding, including Kwik Trip, Arby’s, Burger King, McDonald’s and more.
In Allouez, some residents are dealing with water and sewage in their basements.
The village saying heavy rainfall with saturated ground conditions have infiltrated the village’s sanitary sewer system causing localized back-ups and flooded basements. The impacted area is north of Hwy 172, east of Libal St and south of St. Joseph St.
Staff from the village has been and continues to monitor the situation. The system is draining, but at a slower rate.
Residents who have backflow preventers are encouraged to inspect and clean their device to ensure it is operating properly.
With more rain expected this week, these issues might not be over yet.
The Green Bay Metro Fire Department says water levels are continuing to rise in the area, notably around the East River. If you live near the East River or are in a known flood zone, plan for evacuation and move to higher ground. If you have loved ones who are disabled or elderly, consider moving them.
