(UW ATHLETICS) MADISON – The Wisconsin women’s basketball team (9-3, 1-0 B1G) outlasted IU Indy (4-8, 0-3 Horizon) in their final home game of 2025, securing an 81-72 victory to wrap up their non-conference slate.
The team has now improved its home record to 8-0 on the season, marking the best start at the Kohl Center since the 2006-07 season.
UW had four players finish with double figures in the scoring column, led by 17 from Breauna Ware. Laci Steele added career-highs with 13 points and eight rebounds. Kyrah Daniels and Lily Krahn each chipped in 10 points in the winning effort, too.
Wisconsin burst out of the gates with a 9-0 run, capped off by a layup from Ware. After a strong first quarter for Wisconsin, the Jaguars responded with a 10-2 run of their own to tie the game up at 21-21 in the second period.
UW created some separation toward halftime, as Ronnie Porter connected on a 3-pointer late to extend the Badgers’ lead to 33-27 at the break.
Ware maintained the momentum for Wisconsin in the third period, converting on back-to-back 3-pointers. Shay Bollin followed it up with a 3-pointer of her own to put UW up 45-33, forcing a Jaguars’ timeout.
UW and IU Indy continued to trade buckets throughout the latter half of the frame, as Wisconsin entered the fourth quarter with a 61-43 advantage.
Despite a late flurry for the Jaguars, the Badgers were able to close it out and win their third game in a row. UW out-rebounded IU Indy 40-16 on the afternoon, powering them to another victory.
Wisconsin shot 29-60 (48.3%) from the field while also finishing 13-14 (92.9%) at the free throw line.
