OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Anthony Hendricks was convicted Monday in connection with a shooting that injured two people, including his younger brother.
Hendricks, 18, pleaded no contest to second-degree reckless injury and maintaining a drug trafficking place for the Nov. 29 incident on Bell Street. Sentencing is Sept. 8, court records show.
Several other counts were dismissed but can be considered at sentencing.
According to the criminal complaint, police were called to an apartment on Bell Street on Nov. 29 for a report of shots fired. One man had been shot four times, while the 11-year-old — Hendricks’ younger brother — was shot once.
One witness told police the adult victim arrived at Hendricks’ apartment, and was told to leave. Eventually, Hendricks retrieved a “Taurus G2C,” shot the adult, and then accidentally shot the boy, the complaint states.
Another witness said he thought Hendricks’ action were in self defense, as the adult victim’s associates were pointing guns at Hendricks.
Police also seized drugs from the apartment.
