SHAWANO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Stephany French was sentenced to 12 years in prison for providing the drugs which killed a man.
French, 29, was previously convicted of first-degree reckless homicide for the Sept. 3, 2021 death of a man in a hotel room at the Mohican North Star Casino Resort. She was also placed on extended supervision for eight years at Tuesday’s sentencing by Judge Katherine Sloma, court records show.
According to the criminal complaint, hotel staff found the man unresponsive while cleaning rooms. French was seen leaving the room, and was eventually charged with the death.
The victim died of a combination of fentanyl, methamphetamine and ethanol toxicity, the complaint states.
