MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Republican Eric Hovde easily won Wisconsin’s Republican Senate Primary on Tuesday, setting him up for a November race against incumbent Democrat Tammy Baldwin.
Hovde beat out farmer and Santa Claus impersonator Charles Barman and Rejani Raveendran, the chair of the UW-Stevens Point College Republicans, with 86% of the vote to Barman’s 7% and Raveendran’s 6%.
Hovde previously ran for the Senate in 2012 but lost in the primary.
