APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A suspect is in custody after a hit-and-run crash in Appleton left one man critically injured.
At approximately 11 p.m. Wednesday, the Appleton Police Department was dispatched to the 400 block of North Meade Street for a crash involving a bicycle.
When officers arrived, they found an adult male with significant injuries. He was transported to an area hospital for medical care.
Police say they worked “through the night” to identify the suspect and vehicle involved in the crash. Alic Riedel, 28, of Little Chute, was arrested Thursday afternoon for hit-and-run causing great bodily harm and taken to the Outagamie County Jail.
Appleton police say an investigation is ongoing. The victim’s name has not been released.
