FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Workers in Fond du Lac who have recently lost their jobs are invited to a job fair next week.
The Fox Valley Workforce Development Board is hosting the job fair July 31. It is for employees of Mercury Marine, Charter Communications or any other employer who have lost their jobs.
Employers with job openings are also invited to participate.
Those looking for jobs can register with the local workforce board online or by phone at (920) 968-0991.
Those with job openings can register for a free exhibit table.
The job fair is set for 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Moraine Park Technical College Conference Center, 235 N. National Ave.
Boat engine manufacturer Mercury Marine announced layoffs of nearly 300 workers at its Fond du Lac headquarters in June, with short-term layoffs affecting about 1,700 employees through the fall.
Charter Communications announced last month that it would close its regional support center in Fond du Lac, resulting in the loss of 122 jobs.
