SHEBOYGAN, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The body of a Wrightstown man was recovered from Lake Michigan in Sheboygan.
Officers were dispatched to the area of Blue Harbor Resort Thursday for a report of an unresponsive surfer found in the lake.
Police say a passerby noticed the individual, who was still attached to his surfboard, in the lake and was attempting to pull him from the water while calling 911.
The passerby started to perform CPR until officers and fire personnel arrived on scene. Life saving measures were unsuccessful.
The surfer is identified as a 52-year-old man from Wrightstown.
The cause of death is unknown but there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.
