DOOR CO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Officials released the names of the two children found in the waters of Green Bay after the sailboat they were on capsized over the weekend.
Meanwhile the search for their father, 32-year-old Bill Salnik of Little Suamico, continues.
The search for the three began Sunday after they went sailing Saturday and never made it to their destination.
Early Monday, crews found the capsized sailboat just south of Chambers Island. A few hours later, the bodies of Salnik’s two young children were found about a mile south of where the sailboat was discovered.
Autopsies confirmed the two recovered from the water were five-year-old Charlotte M. Salnik and three-year-old Joshua F. Salnik. They were both wearing flotation devices.
Drone searches are being done Wednesday on the waters of Green Bay for Bill Salnik. Marine searches with K-9 assistance are planned for Thursday.
There are no plans to suspend search operations at this time, authorities say.
