OMRO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — An Omro man was shot while trying to sell his car and two suspects are in custody.
It happened around 7:18 p.m. Monday in the 300 block of E. Main Street.
When officers arrived on scene, the suspects had drove away. The victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators learned the victim, a 65-year-old man, had placed an ad on Facebook Marketplace to sell his car. The two suspects responded to the ad and an altercation quickly ensued when they arrived. At one point, one suspect showed a firearm. During a struggle over the firearm, the victim sustained a gunshot wound and other injuries.
The suspects were quickly located by law enforcement and a pursuit ensued. The chase ended in Fond du Lac and the suspects were taken into custody.
The two suspects are identified as a 45-year-old from Milwaukee and a 27-year-old from Green Bay. Police are recommending multiple charges against the two including attempted first-degree intentional homicide and attempted robbery with use of force. Cocaine was also allegedly found in the possession of the 27-year-old.
