NEENAH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley announced Monday a campaign to help fund the construction of a new facility in Neenah.
Community leaders and club supporters have committed more than $10 million to the project. Fundraising is underway to cover the full cost of the new club, which is expected to exceed $13 million.
The Boys & Girls Club of Neenah will the 16th club location in the Fox Valley family, which supports youth in Outagamie, Calumet, Northern Winnebago, and Manitowoc counties.
Nestled at the northwest corner of Byrd and Marathon Avenues, officials say the new, 35,000-square foot club will serve more than 1,000 children and their families each year. Its planned features include a Life & Workforce Readiness Center, dance studio, sensory room, trio of learning centers, family conference room, dining area, playground, full-scale gymnasium, modern teen lounge and state-of-the-art Makers Lab.
Greg Lemke-Rochon, chief executive officer for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley, said in a news release:
We couldn’t be more excited for this opportunity to provide Neenah youth with a safe place, relationships with caring adults, and access to meaningful activities. We believe our new Boys & Girls Club in Neenah will be a difference maker for many of the young people it will serve over the years. We are very grateful to all those who are coming together to support and lead this vital effort.
