PC: Fox 11 Online
ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Is your child ready to stay home alone, watch younger brothers and sisters while you’re away from the house, or babysit for younger children?
The Center for Childhood Safety is offering Safe Sitter; which is a life and safety training program for kids as young as 11.
Safe Sitter teaches young teens how to practice important safety skills, how to handle emergencies, and how to treat illnesses and injuries and includes an introduction to First Aid procedures and CPR.
In addition, students learn important business skills, like how to screen jobs, set a wage, and work with employers.
2024 Class Schedule:
- Aug. 14 — 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
- Aug. 15 — 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Students who graduate from a Safe Sitter course receive a completion card that demonstrates they know how to use their skills in situations they encounter. Cost per child is $70.
