STURGEON BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Manitowoc woman died and two others were hurt after their vehicle struck a brick retention wall in Sturgeon Bay.
It happened just after 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the 1300 block of Green Bay Road.
Based on witness statements, the vehicle was traveling west on Green Bay Road when it drifted to the right, went over the curb and struck the retention wall head on.
The front seat passenger, a 44-year-old Manitowoc woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The backseat passenger, a 16-year-old girl from Sturgeon Bay, is in critical condition.
The driver of the vehicle, a 38-year-old Sturgeon Bay man, is also listed in critical condition.
Medical helicopters responded to the scene.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
The roadway was closed for several hours after the crash.
