(WTAQ-WLUK) — Next week Fond du Lac County will present its plan for repurposing the closing UWO-FDL campus.
On June 30, the UWO-FDL campus will cease to exist and possession of all campus buildings and land will be returned to Fond du Lac County.
On Friday, Fond du Lac County executive Sam Kaufman announced his proposed plans will be presented to the county board in an informational meeting on June 18 at 5 p.m. in the County Board Chambers at the City-County Government Center in Fond du Lac.
Kaufman he would create a new Fond du Lac County Campus (FCC) that brings county and state government offices, performing arts, law enforcement, event center and sporting events together. His proposal would result in the campus generating revenue to be self- sufficient and not a burden on tax payers.
Another public informational meeting will be held on June 27 at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held in the commons area adjacent to the Prairie Theater at the new FCC. This meeting is open to the public and will allow the public to see the conceptual drawings and ask questions and comment.
The proposal would be presented to the County Board for approval at their July, 2024 meeting.
