Elijah Getman (Winnebago Co. Jail)
OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — An Oshkosh man is facing charges after allegedly threatening his neighbor with Molotov cocktails.
Elijah Getman, 37, is also charged with disorderly conduct in connection with the May 31 incident.
According to the criminal complaint, police were called to the 500 block of Central Street for a disturbance between neighbors. One neighbor was reported to be holding a Molotov cocktail and possibly a knife.
When officers arrived on scene, they saw Getman holding a Molotov cocktail in one hand and a lighter in the other hand, police say. Initially when officers ordered Getman to drop the Molotov, he did not comply, however, he ultimately put it on the ground and was taken into custody.
Getman told police he had an ongoing issue with his neighbor who repeatedly urinates outside.
On the day of the incident, a witness said the neighbor urinated in a bush near the shared driveway. Getman said his girlfriend and eight-year-old daughter saw the man and Getman’s girlfriend went outside and an argument ensued.
Two to five minutes later, Getman reportedly came out holding a Molotov cocktail in one hand and a lighter and knife in the other.
