GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-METRO) – Green Bay’s mayor wants to have security guards at city hall before the November election.
Mayor Eric Genrich this week proposed adding security guards at the city building because of ‘incidents’ and the upcoming election. The mayor is not saying just which incidents prompted his decision to beef-up security.
The push for guards comes after Genrich secretly added microphones at city hall to keep tabs on people outside the city council chambers.
The security plan will cost about 150 thousand-dollars to start. In addition to guards, Genrich wants to move non-public meetings off the first floor at city hall to provide more privacy.
