TOWN OF GIBRALTAR, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The public has a second chance to comment on plans for a parking lot at Peninsula State Park.
After receiving feedback on an initial proposal in late January and early February, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has released more details, including concept drawings to show the scope of the changes being proposed.
The changes require a variance to the DNR’s Northern Lake Michigan Coastal Regional Master Plan. The variance would allow more parking and the rerouting or reconfiguration of access roads. The goal is to expand capacity improve public safety, expand accessibility and alleviate congestion at Eagle Tower, Eagle Terrace and Eagle Panorama.
