GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – As unseasonably warm temperatures turn record breaking, ice and snow are becoming more scarce throughout Northeast Wisconsin. How is that impacting recreational businesses in the area?
“Honestly, things have been picking up,” said Dustin Patterson, the sales manager at Bayside Outdoors. Even though the RV dealer is busy throughout the year, Patterson says spring is the most popular season for them.
“Now obviously, summer is when most of these items are used the most. But spring, I think, is when units really start flying out of here,” Patterson said.
The influx of customers is apparent when it seems like a false spring.
“You know, it’s turning into an early spring. It’s getting people active and getting them back, wanting to get outdoors. Trailers are starting to go out the door again. Boat interest is coming around,” Patterson explained.
While we may not be heading into spring quite yet, Patterson says now is the time to snag up some good deals on their units.
“With ice already breaking up, winter looks like it’s fading away. I would say now is the time for anybody that is getting ready for the season to start scooping up things now,” said Patterson.
“If people are picking things up in the middle of winter, we know it’s hard to store items, where do you put things as soon as you would buy them — we will store units for you, if you are willing to get one earlier in the season… and then by that time they’re all ready to go in spring, they don’t have to do any scrambling as soon as that weather is nice and consistent.”
And if, by some chance, ice and snow make a comeback during the remainder of winter, Patterson said Bayside Outdoors can accommodate your winter recreation needs.
