(WTAQ-WLUK) — A woman from Appleton has been charged with the production and distribution of child sexual abuse material, officials said Monday.
A federal criminal complaint accuses Charlotta Belgum, 38, of producing the material between Dec. 2021 and June 2022 and sharing it online with a male acquaintance in Texas.
“The complaint further alleges that Belgum frequently engaged in online conversations on a ‘fetish’ website centered around the sexual abuse of children,” a news release said.
Belgum faces a mandatory 15-year prison sentence and up to 30 years imprisonment if convicted of the production charge. She could also be fined up to $250,000.
