Big crowds returned big dollars to the Packers.
GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) –The Packers aren’t the only reason the upcoming Packers vs. Chiefs game is getting popular…
With a confirmed Simone Biles in attendance, and possibly Taylor Swift too, there’s a lot of buzz on the December 3 game at Lambeau. In previous appearances, Biles agreed that she would like to meet Swift if she’s there.
Biles is married to Packers safety Jonathan Owens, while Swift is dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
“There’s just a lot of chatter about them; What it’s really doing to ticket sales is hard to quantify on our end,” said Travis Loftus with Ticket King in Green Bay. “At the end of the day, it is still a football game and people are there to watch the football players.”
Loftus says even though ticket sales have fluctuated a bit for this game, it’s ultimately remained a popular game. “My guess is that it’ll probably be the most highly attended game this season besides the season opener,” he said.
One of the most popular restaurants in Green Bay, The Pancake Place, has had plenty of stars stop by for a bite while they’re in town. Manager Lisa June says they’d be happy to serve Swift or Biles.
“This is a big deal. Everyone is kind of preparing,” said June. “But with The Pancake Place being one of the busiest restaurants in Green Bay, I don’t think they will make an appearance here, but we are ready for it.”
Celebrities who have eaten at The Pancake Place include Jesse McCartney, Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel, Aaron Rodgers, and more.
“We just treat them like they’re regular guests. They come in hoping to be treated that way; they don’t want the attention,” said June. “And our customers too; they respect their privacy.”
The Packers vs. Chiefs game begins Sunday night at 7:20 p.m. at Lambeau Field.
