ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A proposal for a shorter hotel near Lambeau Field was endorsed by a village committee Tuesday.
Gridiron Entities wants to build a 100-room Cambria Hotel and Suites on the current site of the Asheville Square and Acts 1:8 offices on Oneida Street, a few blocks south of Lambeau Field. Its original plan for a five-story building met with opposition by some neighbors, prompting a revised four-story hotel.
The village’s Planning Commission endorsed the new plan on a 7-0 vote. It goes to the full Village Board on Sept. 26, according to Aaron Schuette, community development director.
If approved there, the next step would be submission of a site plan. The first review of that plan could be Oct. 3, and ultimately to the Village Board on Oct. 24.
The hotel would include a first-floor restaurant, lobby, pool, fitness room, restrooms, laundry and utilities. The fourth-floor would include a hotel bar with a deck facing Oneida Street. More on-site parking was added compared to the original plan, as well.
