APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) — The Appleton Police Department is currently investigating a stabbing incident that occurred late Wednesday night.
On Wednesday at 11:32 p.m., Appleton officers responded to reports of a stabbing near the intersection of South Memorial Dr. and W Seventh St. Upon arrival, officers located an injured person. Medical attention was immediately rendered, and the injured individual was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
“Our priority is to make sure the victim is safe, and making sure we’re doing everything we can to bring justice to this incident,” said Lt. Meghan Cash with the Appleton Police Department.
Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, specific details regarding the circumstances of the incident, the identities of those involved, are not being released at this time. One person is in custody related to this incident. Based on the investigation it is believed that the victim was targeted, and the greater community is not at risk.
