APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Fox Valley Humane Association is asking the public for help as it continues to provide temporary housing for pets belonging to families displaced by the recent flooding.
Since flooding began earlier this month, the shelter has offered a place for pets to stay while their displaced owners are in hotels or shelters that do not accept pets.
The shelter says it has welcomed a growing number of dogs in recent weeks and expects more arrivals as residents continue to feel the effects.
The Fox Valley Humane Association is collaborating with the Red Cross to provide essential supplies to area temporary shelters. The shelter is calling on the community to help sustain these efforts.
Donations of dog food, cleaning supplies, enrichment toys, and monetary contributions are urgently needed. The organization is also seeking foster homes for other dogs, freeing up more space in the shelter for housing displaced pets.
Right now, all monetary donations are being matched as part of the Paws and Petals Dog Walk campaign, funded by four local dog moms. Community members are encouraged to donate or register for the upcoming walk to maximize their impact.
To donate, sign up to foster/volunteer, or register for the walk, click here or contact the organization directly.
