ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ) — Bellin Health Sports Medicine has announced its partnership with the Ashwaubenon School District; bringing sports medicine services to the district’s student-athletes, coaches, administrators and staff.
Through this partnership, Bellin Health will deliver athletic training and sports medicine services to all students participating in the district’s athletics programs. They will also offer support and guidance on issues such as injury prevention, conditioning, nutrition and sports psychology.
“We will have two athletic trainers providing care Monday through Saturday,” said Mark Husen, Team Facilitator for Business and Growth Development at Bellin. “They’re doing injury evaluation, accessing concussions, and providing medical care at events.”
Athletes in need of elevated care will have easy access to Bellin’s team at Bellin Health Titletown Sports Medicine & Orthopedics.
In addition to the current services, the partnership between Bellin Health and the Ashwaubenon School District will expand to include strength and conditioning services. This impending addition will provide an opportunity for student-athletes to train under the guidance of certified strength and conditioning specialists, helping them reach their full potential while reducing the risk of injuries.
Husen says overall the goal of the partnership is not only to provide support to student-athletes, but the entire district and community.
“We want to share education on nutrition, psychology, and mental health and wellbeing,” said Husen. “How do you handle anxiety? And how do you handle the pressures of a big game?”
The Ashwaubenon School District and Bellin health partnership went into effect July 1.
